Introduction
Facility ExteriorThe emergency medical training and simulation center at the National EMS Academy is a unique 1,570 square foot area that houses a blended delivery classroom and four patient encounter theaters.

The classroom is designed to encourage maximum interaction between learners and faculty. Concepts are presented in lively case-based discussion format and immediately followed by hands-on practice to facilitate learning and retention.


Building Competence

Facility ExteriorBuilding real competence is a step-by-step process. Our programs are designed to improve performance. Sessions include preparatory work to introduce learning objectives and core concepts, isolated skills training, decision making through self-directed Micro-Simulation, and realistic team-based simulations. Maintaining and increasing competence is an ongoing process.

Facility ExteriorThe 1,112 square foot classroom is designed to seat 24 learners while facilitating blended delivery of instruction. It includes a state-of-the art multi-media presentation system capable of supporting all forms of instructional medium including access to the world wide web.

The center has four simulation theaters that are configured to resemble:

  • Ambulance
  • Emergency Department treatment room, physician’s office or clinic
  • Residential or nursing home bedroom
  • Residential living room
